The Korean War era M2A1 ammunition bag had two large pockets that were designed for carrying 60mm mortar shells. Both mortar crews and bazooka teams used the vest in Vietnam, though apart from the Marines, bazooka use fell early in the war due to the introduction of the LAW rocket launcher.
